Rick Barrera – Of-Counsel

Going to trial can be difficult for victims and their families, that’s why Rick is dedicated and passionate when assisting them navigate court proceedings from beginning to end. His commitment to his clients and his profession shows through the numerous settlements and lawsuits his firm has successfully finalized.

Rick believes strongly in civic duty and has served in various leadership capacities with Rotary International, Midland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Hispanic National Bar Association. He currently serves on the Minority Caucus for American Association for Justice, where he is Incoming Chair. Rick is also an active member in the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association as well as the Texas Trial Lawyers Association. Twice Rick has been named a “Super Lawyers’ Rising Star” in 2018 and 2019.

Rick was born and raised in the border community of Del Rio, TX. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. After successful careers in grocery retail management and financial advising, Rick fulfilled his childhood dream of attending law school. He graduated from Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law and is licensed to practice law in Texas and New Mexico.
